This weekend, we were back up in Baltimore & decided to take the day on Saturday to check out DC & all of the war memorials. We also visited Arlington National Cemetery & watched the changing of the guard at the tomb of the unknown. It was an awesome experience & a great way to show our respect for our Veterans. Here are some pics as well as a video of the changing of the guard if you've never experienced it.
Jefferson Memorial
Washington Monument
WW II Memorial
Vietnam Memorial
Lincoln Memorial
Korean War Memorial
Arlington National Cemetery & The Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown. Note the veterans in the back right corner. They are in DC as part of the Honor Flight mission that takes veterans to DC & Arlington for a free visit to show their appreciation for all they did to serve their country.
Love this area. My daughter is a senior at the Univ of Maryland and we had senior weekend for the volleyball team. Had a great time and love the DC/Georgetown area. You are lucky to live there!
Great photos! Only been there once and loved it. I'l have to go back to check out the guard change.
